Left Justified
FeedsAnother Fraud on eBay
∞ | June 27, 2006 | Category: General
This is not the sort of post I thought I’d ever publish on this site. I even opened a WordPress.com blog to prevent me dirtying LeftJustifed with my disillusioned rants about the state of the web and those who create it for love, money and power. Their’s no power, that’s more hype; back to the topic at hand.
As someone who utilizes and appreciates the work done by Dave Childs to make this collection of cheat sheets freely available, I believe the issue is relevant to this site and the people who (used to) read it.
Hmmm. It would seem that Dr. Lance D Chambers, JP, has no respect for the intellectual property of others.
To make matters worse, Lance Chambers has zero remorse for his actions. Instead, he chooses to insult the author of the works in question by calling himself a consultant and saying that he is charging for the reasearch he has undertaken to discover these cheat sheets.
RESEARCH?! You pathetic, deluded man. As of writing this, Dave’s post on the matter is number six in a Google search for Lance Chambers. Hopefully this will remain for long enough that his prospective clients via eBay can get a better insight into his business methods.
If this all seems a bit overboard on my part, I’m not sorry. I love my country and I love freedom of knowledge; this guy is shitting on both.
Have Your Say

“If this all seems a bit overboard… this guy is shitting on both.”
Could not have said it better myself.
The downside of the web. The more open you are, the more open to abuse by people with no integrity.
Damn Ebay gets alot of @!#$heads. Everyone is diluded by the concept of making money online by cheating. Idiots! Thank god people pick up on this stuff before it’s to late or i would just uninstall my webbrowser for good.
I’m get pretty pissed when i read something like this, so thought i’d send Lance an message on eBay. I told him i thought his actions were immoral, unethical and illegal and all he was doing was damaging his reputation and pissing off the wider web development community.
Here’s his response…
“I seriously do not have a moral or ethical problem with that I’m
sorry. You do I don’t. Differences of opinion. It’s no worth
starting a war over. As long as e-bay are okay with it then so am
I.
And please don’t threaten me with ‘bad publicity’. I am 57 years
old, retiring in about 3 months, I’m not looking for work, or to
become the next president of anything. I really don’t need my
‘electronic reputation to be intact’.
So what if 1 million people read about this? 999,000 will forget
about it within minutes. Of the 1000 left about 900 will forget
about it the next time they wake up and who cares about the
remaining 100? They cannot have any real impact on me.
Get a life. You obviously need one.
Regards, Lance1949″
Great guy, fantastic attitude.
I have never bought or sold anything on eBay and the more I read, the more I don’t want to. I do not want to deal with jerky people.
Reselling other works isn’t anything new but it’s the respective credit that’s missing here.
I would feel more sorry for the buyers of the information than angry at the seller because they’re victims too.
Electronic mugging tut..tut..
Internet today often reminds me on a self service shop where nobody must pay. There are thousands of bots stealing content to make money. The moral is getting downwards day by day.
